Food for Friday

Hi Everyone !

Just sharing a recipe I was searching for Jam Drops:

  • 125g butter, softened
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 115g (1/3 cup) strawberry or raspberry jam
  1. Pre heat your oven to 180 deg C and line two baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla extract until very light and creamy.  Add the egg and mix until well combined.
  3. Proceed to sift the flour into the creamed butter mixture and fold everything together until you have a soft but useable dough.  If you find it’s sticky add some flour a little at a time until you reach the correct consistency.
  4. Using floured hands shape a teaspoonful of dough into a ball and place on a baking tray a few cms apart.  Using your floured index finger pierce the center of each ball to make a well. Spoon half a teaspoon of jam into each biscuit.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15 mins or until the jam drops are nice and golden (shouldn’t be more than 15 mins).
  6. Serve with milk, tea, coffee or eggnog.

 A little entertainment

And to finish off with something more sweet, have you seen the latest video of Jimmy Choo's collaboration with artist Rob Pruitt ?

Check it out here:

Jimmy Choo announced a collaboration with contemporary artist Rob Pruitt on a capsule collection for the Cruise 2013 Collection.

The range of accessories will include shoes, handbags, and small leather goods all referencing the inimitable style of Pruitt’s art.

The products are set to debut in Jimmy Choo boutiques and online in November 2012

Personally, I just can't wait to see what we can expect from this collaboration.
What I do know is that I will be saving up!

Time for Sweets !

Hi Everyone !

So sorry I haven't been posting for a while but I've been so busy at work and baking new cupcakes and so on that I did not have time to really post all my ideas of the last week.

Found this great book on how to make ice cream.. I know it's getting colder but hey everybody loves Ice cream especially me and my kids their favorite flavor Salted Caramel Ice cream:

Check out the book Sweet Cream and Sugar Cones here on Amazon

How to make    Salted Caramel Ice cream:

What do you need:

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
  • 2 1/4 cups heavy cream, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs

Preparation:

Heat 1 cup sugar in a dry 10-inch heavy skillet over medium heat, stirring with a fork to heat sugar evenly, until it starts to melt, then stop stirring and cook, swirling skillet occasionally so sugar melts evenly, until it is dark amber.
Add 1 1/4 cups cream (mixture will spatter) and cook, stirring, until all of caramel has dissolved. Transfer to a bowl and stir in sea salt and vanilla. Cool to room temperature.
Meanwhile, bring milk, remaining cup cream, and remaining 1/4 cup sugar just to a boil in a small heavy saucepan, stirring occasionally.
Lightly whisk eggs in a medium bowl, then add half of hot milk mixture in a slow stream, whisking constantly. Pour back into saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until custard coats back of spoon and registers 170°F on an instant-read thermometer (do not let boil). Pour custard through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl, then stir in cooled caramel.
Chill custard, stirring occasionally, until very cold, 3 to 6 hours. Freeze custard in ice cream maker (it will still be quite soft), then transfer to an airtight container and put in freezer to firm up.

Inspirations, inspirations...

Just another Manic Monday

Hi Everyone !

Every monday I want to make a fresh start for a new week but don't want to overdue my look.

I just went browsing and came up with this outfit so I hope you like it !

Knowing that Monday is always hectic, I like to wear something casual but still make a new beginning.

working in a professional environment you never want to look too casual but do want to feel comfortable the entire day, because life continues after 6
and by that I mean, maybe a quick drive to the supermarket or picking up my son from school.

To at least have a good impression of what to wear, I love to read magazines about lifestyle, and of course fashion and ready to wear pieces from
the runway.

I think it is important to at least try to incorporate this in your daily wardrobe and personal style.

2 level bag from Lodinatt:

A great invention from a Korean brand a found on the internet while looking for a new bag for work.

Working more than a 40 hour job and a lot of appointment to attend it is nice to have a bag that fits all my needs and more important
my documents !

What I love about this bag is that it has room for my documents, organizer and tablet I can use the bottom compartment of the bag
for my camera as well but also my salad and meatballs, or other things I get from the grocery store on my way home :)

this bag is definitely on my list when I threat myself with something nice :)

Share my love for this bag ? Get it here !

Jeggings Gstar:

There is nothing more comfortable then well fitting jeggins, which is is softer variant of skinny jeans I believe.

Jeggins are good for a entire day due to the stretchy fabric I like to wear them with flats and boots !

Cotton sweater H&M:

A warm cotton or knitted sweater will keep you cosy during winter but also keeps you when transitioning from summer to fall.
sweaters like these always looks great underneath jeggins and, by adding a belt you can accentuate your waist nicely.
